MAPLE VALLEY, WA — A 15-year-old girl was identified Wednesday as a suspect involved in a July hit-and-run crash that killed a man in Maple Valley, according to King County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the fatal collision occurred on the 23800 block of Southeast 216th Street at approximately 5:00 a.m.

A 53-year-old man had gone for a run in the area before he was found dead in what detectives determined was a hit-and-run.

Back in August, a gray Toyota Camry was identified as the suspect car, making Tuesday’s recovery of the vehicle a breakthrough in the case.

The Major Accident Response and Reconstruction (MARR) unit with the King County Sheriff’s Office said they now have probable cause to arrest the teen suspect, who has not yet been located.

Authorities have begun processing the vehicle for evidence.
