SEATTLE, WA– Seattle commuter Rachel Brophy was injured when a piece of iron rebar dropped from an I-5 overpass into her dashboard on the evening of May 13, according to KIRO 7.

The plunging 5-foot object caused flying glass to lacerate her face as she took the ramp from I-90 merging onto I-5 northbound.

Seattle EMTs told Brophy that they had already responded to several similar incidents there that same day. Multiple cars and trucks had been hit by objects including rocks and bricks thrown from the 12th Avenue South Bridge, which spans over lanes merging from I-90 to I-5.
