3 hospitalized after plane makes emergency landing on Orcas Island

ORCAS ISLAND, WA – Three people were injured when a small plane made an emergency landing on Orcas Island Thursday, according to KOMO News.

The incident happened in a grassy field near the 3300 block of Point Lawrence Road shortly after the plane took off from Friday Harbor Airport on San Juan Island.

The three occupants of the small aircraft were airlifted to the hospital off the island for the treatment of minor injuries.

The cause of the emergency landing was not immediately available. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is leading the investigation into the crash.
