SEATTLE, WA — A woman collided with multiple cars Tuesday while trying to escape a carjacker in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle, according to Kiro 7 News.
Police reported the woman was going north in a Dodge Challenger along Rainier Avenue Avenue South when she came to a stop at red light 51st Avenue South.
Officers say a man then approached and tried to physically coerce the car from her. In response, the woman attempted to elude the man by accelerating forward and backward, striking other cars at the red light.
After striking the other vehicles, the woman continued north along Rainier. One car was reported by police to have chased after the woman, and the man who initiated the events was witnessed limping behind the nearby King Donuts store.
A string of events followed, including someone in a Chevrolet Malibu pulling up next to the woman and firing shots as she reached Cloverdale.
Three crime scenes were discovered by patrol officers working with Gun Violence Reduction Unit.
