PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A 53-year-old Bonney Lake resident was killed Saturday afternoon after losing control of her motorcycle on state Route 410 near downtown Buckley, according to The News Tribune.

The woman was heading westbound on SR-410 near the 262nd Avenue intersection at around 1:00 p.m. when her motorcycle rolled into a ditch. Trooper Robert Reyer with Washington State Patrol said the woman likely applied too much pressure on the gas while making a turn.

The rider died at the scene. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

A report issued later by WSP confirmed no drugs or alcohol played a role.

All westbound traffic was diverted through 262nd Street back onto SR-410 through 254th Street for more than two hours after the crash.
