White Center, Washington – Three Firefighters Injured in Three-Alarm Fire

White Center, Washington (March 20, 2019) – Three firefighters were injured while dealing with an apartment complex on fire. The fire started in the 10700 block of 14th Avenue Southwest, around 3 pm on Wednesday. A Seattle Fire Department firefighter was sent to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, and another was also hospitalized as a precaution, while the third firefighter had been treated on the scene.

What began as a brush fire spread to a nearby apartment complex and was quickly raised to three-alarm status because of its size. Responding firefighters evacuated nearby units. While seven units were affected by the fire, no occupants were injured. The fire was mostly extinguished around 5 pm. A man suspected of starting the brush fire was later arrested after witnesses described seeing him light the brush fire.
