SPANAWAY, WA – The two teenaged brothers who drowned in Spanaway Lake on Sunday have been identified as 14-year-old Hamadi Musa and 15-year-old Ramadani Mberwa.
According to Q13 Fox, first responders arrived at the lake minutes after getting the call for help. They pulled one brother out of the water within a few minutes but could not locate the second boy for another half-hour.
Officials said the boys were not strong swimmers and there was no lifeguard on duty. Because lake and river water can be very cold and littered with vegetation, officials recommend swimming with lifejackets.
