Update: Pedestrian killed in crash that closed I-5 in Ridgefield
Request Free ConsultationCLARK CO., WA – A pedestrian was killed in the collision that shut down southbound traffic on I-5 at 179th Street this morning, KOMO now reports.
This is an update to an earlier blog post.
The initial collision happened at about 3 a.m. this morning, and by 6:30 a.m. had backed up traffic for nearly 5 miles.
The circumstances of the fatal crash are not known at this time. However, we will update this blog as soon as we know more.
UPDATE: All lanes of SB I-5 near 179th Street are now OPEN. The traffic backup is nearly 5-miles. Plan for extra travel time if you’re heading that way.

The affected area was cleared and all lanes were reopened by 7:25 a.m., although delays are expected to continue for some time given the severity of the backup.
