PUYALLUP, WA — Two people were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a house fire Tuesday afternoon in Puyallup, according to Q13 Fox.

Police and crews with Central Pierce Fire & Rescue were called to a residence near the 2900 block of 9th Street at around 2:30 p.m.

Two people, whose identities were undisclosed, were rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Three animals, including a dog and two guinea pigs, were discovered dead in the house.

A preliminary investigation into the incident suggests the fire was started in home’s garage.

Multiple street intersections in the area were closed down for several hours as crews responded to the fire.

The cause of fire is still unknown or has not yet been disclosed.
