Two killed in accident on State Route 9 in Snohomish

SNOHOMISH, WA – Two people died in a collision on northbound State Route 9 near 172nd Street SE on Wednesday after turning in front of a pickup truck that could not stop in time.
According to KOMO, Michele Panello, 49, and her passenger, 28-year-old Tyler Ott, died at the scene. Panello was driving a Honda Civic and attempted to turn left across the southbound lanes of SR 9. An oncoming pickup truck hauling a trailer could not slow down in time and struck the Honda.
The pickup truck driver was not injured. Police are still investigating.
