Two families displaced by duplex fire in South Everett

EVERETT, WA– Everett fire crews responded to a duplex fire on 5th Avenue West just after 6 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, according to MyEverettNews.com.
The Everett crews, assisted by crews from South County Fire, were met with heavy smoke wafting from one of the joined units. The unit where the fire happened sustained extensive damage and caused smoke damage to its neighboring unit.
Everett Fire is currently investigating the scene to determine the initial cause.
No injuries were reported following the incident.
The two families affected by the fire are currently being assisted by the Northwest Chapter of the American Red Cross.
