Train derails, blocks streets in Centralia on Sunday

CENTRALIA, WA – A train derailed in Centralia on Sunday just before 5 p.m., blocking at least two streets.
KOMO News reported that the cause of the derailment is still under investigation. The derailment occurred on North Tower Avenue and 5th Street and also blocked North Pearl Street and B Street.
Centralia Police confirmed that no one was injured and that no harmful materials were spilled.
Tower Avenue and B Street could remain closed for the next few days while officials investigate and clear the scene. Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes.
