BLEWETT PASS, WA — Three people were hospitalized following a rollover crash Sunday evening near Blewett Pass, according to iFIBER One News.

The Washington State Patrol said the driver, 29-year-old Alexei Avakov of Seattle, lost control of a 2020 Tesla while traveling south on Highway 97.

His vehicle veered past the road’s centerline, crossed the northbound roadway and hit an embankment, rolling over many times until it came to a stop in the northbound ditch.

Avakov, along with two 22-year-old passengers of Seattle and Georgia, were injured and rushed to Wenatchee’s Confluence Health-Cenral Washington Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation, but WSP troopers report that drugs and/or alcohol played a role. Charges are expected to be brought against Avakov.
