KITTITAS COUNTY, WA — Two men and a teenager were injured Wednesday afternoon in a collision involving two vehicles near Easton, according to Columbia Basin Herald.

The accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-90 two miles northwest of Easton shortly before 12:28 p.m.

A 78-year-old man was heading west on the highway in a 2020 Subaru Forester when he attempted to merge to the next lane at the same time a 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 was passing and hit the vehicle. The impact caused the Ram to strike a barrier and roll until coming to a stop across all three westbound lanes. The Forester ended up in the left shoulder.

The Forester driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries. His passenger, a 63-year-old woman, was reported uninjured.

The driver of the Ram, a 48-year-old man, along with a 14-year-old passenger, was transported to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center for injuries. The extent of their injuries was not made immediately clear. A 17-year-old female passenger in the Ram was uninjured.

Washington State Patrol determined the cause of the crash to be improper merging.
