RICHLAND, WA — A 45-year-old Bremerton man suspected of driving under the influence Friday morning fled the scene of a Richland crash, according to Tri-City Herald.
The Washington State Patrol said the man was driving north on the Richland Highway 240 bypass when his 2001 Suburban hit a Dodge pickup near stoplights at Duportail Street at around 6:45 a.m.
WSP troopers arrived on scene to an unoccupied SUV, but sighted the at-fault driver fleeing on foot on a nearby walking path.
The suspected driver, who was injured in the crash, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. He has since been arrested under four charges that include suspected DUI, hit and run, second-degree negligence, and driving with a suspended license.
The occupants of the pickup truck, all residents of Kennewick, were not reported injured.
