EVERETT, WA – Two men, one in his 40s and one in his 20s, died in a car accident on the 5800 block of 20th St SE early Saturday morning that officials believe may have been caused in part by heavy fog.

KOMO News reports that one of the victims had been ejected from the vehicle. Both were found dead at the scene when first responders arrived around 3 a.m. Officials from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office told KOMO that speed and heavy fog were likely factors in the crash. Officials believe the driver lost control before crashing into a supply of pipes off the road.

The victims’ names have not been released. No other vehicles were involved.
