Seattle police officer injured by hit-and-run driver

SEATTLE, WA – A Seattle police officer was injured in a hit-and-run accident on South Myrtle Street yesterday morning, KIRO 7 reports.

The incident occurred in the 4800 block of Myrtle St. at approximately 9:30 a.m. Thursday. A motorist hit another vehicle and attempted to flee, colliding with the police officer before fleeing the scene.

The officer is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are continuing to search for the driver.
