WSP Trooper Thorson reported that the incident occurred Thursday morning when another Trooper attempted to pull the rental vehicle over for reckless driving. The driver refused to stop and led the Trooper on a short chase.
According to Thorson, the driver tossed his gun out the window, which WSP later recovered.
The Trooper ceased the pursuit once they entered Benton City, but later located the vehicle abandoned in an orchard near Ki-Be High School.
