Police searching for witnesses to fatal hit-and-run accident in Tacoma

TACOMA, WA – One person was killed in Tacoma early yesterday morning when they were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident that is sending police on a search for witnesses, according to KOMO News.

The collision occurred near S I Street and S 72nd Street at around 12:40 a.m., when a 58-year-old victim was struck by an unknown driver who then fled the scene.

The victim died at the site of the accident.

Police have not released any suspects, and they intend to canvas the area for possible witnesses, as none have yet come forward.

The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
