Pedestrian hospitalized after crash near Seattle’s South Lake Union

SEATTLE, WA — A man was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle near an encampment in the South Lake Union neighborhood in Seattle, according to KOMO News.

The collision occurred near the intersection of Dexter Avenue North and Mercer Street at approximately 3:00 p.m.

Following the crash, the causing driving and a passenger had driven away from the scene before alerting authorities about the incident.

The victim, a 30-year-old male resident of an encampment in the area, was transported to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries.

Investigators are still working to gather information on the events leading up to the crash, but have found that the three people were involved in an argument.

At this time, no arrests have yet been made.
