LYNWOOD, WA — Four people were injured Thursday morning in a serious multiple-car collision along Interstate 5 northbound in Lynnwood, according to King 5.

The incident occurred a little south of 44th Avenue West and was first recorded by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) around 3:30 a.m.

Four left lanes along I-5 northbound became blocked by 5 a.m. By 7 a.m., morning traffic was stretched over a mile and beyond the 220th Street SW exit in Mountlake Terrace. As of 8:30 a.m., all lanes were cleared.

Two of the four people involved are in serious condition and were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The other two injured were taken to Swedish Medical Center, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

Trooper Rocky Oliphant with the WSP said that a preliminary investigation suggests the driver of the vehicle responsible for the collision had been “driving erratically”.
