Multi-vehicle crash spills 70 gallons of fuel into river, blocks I-5

LA CENTER, WA – A six-vehicle incident involving a truck towing a trailer caused a 70-gallon oil spill into a local river and backed up traffic on Interstate 5 near milepost 15 on Wednesday.

According to Washington State Trooper Will Finn, three commercial vehicles, two passenger cars, and one truck towing a trailer were involved in the collision. The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Traffic was backed up on the interstate at least three miles while crews responded.
Finn also reported that the Washington State Department of Ecology was responding to contain the oil spill in the river.
