Multi-vehicle collision shuts down US-2 for hours in Gold Bar
Request Free ConsultationSNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — Troopers responded to the scene of a major accident Saturday afternoon on U.S. Highway 2 in Gold Bar, reports Washington State Patrol.
According to Trooper Rocky Oliphant, a driver ran their car off the roadway and into right-shoulder barrier shortly before 12:14 p.m.
HWY 2 in Gold Bar – Passenger vehicle went off the road and struck the barrier on right shoulder, crossed into the oncoming lane colliding head on with a semi truck. Vehicle temporarily caught on fire. Believe no serious injuries. Road is currently fully blocking.

The car then entered the oncoming lane, where it struck a semi-truck head-on, causing the car to erupt into flames and burn for a short time.
Authorities said a total of three vehicles were ultimately impacted by the collision, though no serious injuries to its occupants were reported.
Unfathomable that there are no serious injuries. Very fortunate these people can walk away from this collision. This was actually a 3 vehicle collision.

The event left the road completely blocked for at least three hours as emergency crews worked to clear the wreckage and spilled fluids from the roadway.
Shortly after 3;30 p.m., the road was reopened to traffic.
