Motorhome starts fire along State Route 16

PORT ORCHARD, WA – A motorhome sparked a brush fire on State Route 16 near Tremont St on Monday afternoon, blocking traffic in the area.

Chelsea Hodgson, a public information officer for the State Troopers, reported the fire at 5:51 p.m. Monday. The brush fire spread into the center median of SR 16, and crews shut down the eastbound lane to fight it. Westbound lanes remained open.
All lanes of SR 16 reopened by 7:30 p.m. Monday night. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
