Motorcyclist killed after crashing into car on North Cascades Highway

DIABLO, WA – A 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a Sunday morning crash on North Cascades Highway near Lake Diablo.
KOMO News reported that 33-year-old George E. Shufelt was riding his motorcycle eastbound on the highway when he crossed the centerline and hit a vehicle in the westbound lane. The impact of the crash sent Shufelt and his bike over the highway’s embankment.
Authorities arrived at around 11:20 a.m. to find Shufelt dead at the scene. The car involved in the accident was occupied by a couple from Mount Vernon, who cooperated with investigators.
Investigators do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in this accident.
