Motorcyclist dies in crash with vehicle on S Orchard St in Firecrest

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A motorcyclist died late Friday night after a collision involving another vehicle in a south Firecrest intersection, reports Tacoma Police Department.

The fatal accident occurred in the 4000 block of S. Orchard Street near Emerson Street and was first reported shortly before 10:15 p.m.

Authorities closed the intersection during the emergency response.

No other information has been made available on the cause of the accident, but according to The News Tribune, the rider may have been speeding moments before the crash.

It was not immediately clear whether anyone else was hurt.
