Motorcyclist dead in alleged DUI crash in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, WA – A motorcyclist died Wednesday after colliding with an SUV in northeast Vancouver, in the Minnehaha area, according to KGW8.

The accident happened at about 5:20 p.m. near Minnehaha Street and Northeast 47th Avenue when the driver of a van made a sharp, sudden turn into the path of a motorcyclist.

The victim is Vancouver man Mark Holm. He died instantly after colliding with the SUV, which was possibly racing another vehicle, a purple Lexus.

The driver of the SUV, Carlos J. Hoyos-Gonzalez, 26, was reportedly under the influence and is facing a charge of vehicular homicide. According to police, Hoyos-Gonzalez already has two hit-and-run charges on his record.

Hoyos-Gonzalez is currently being held in the Clark County Jail.
