Man struck, killed by passing van after crashing his own car on SR 16

GIG HARBOR, WA – A man died after crashing his vehicle into a ditch and getting ejected onto State Route 16 near Burnham Drive before being run over by a passing van.
According to KOMO News, the accident happened around 3 a.m. on Thursday. The victim lost control of his vehicle, possibly due to impairment, and crashed into a ditch. Immediately after this happened, a van heading east on SR 16 struck the man, killing him. Police told KOMO that the driver of the van did not show signs of impairment.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
