SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A 64-year-old Mountlake Terrace man died Sunday afternoon after a single-vehicle motorcycle accident just north of Snohomish, according to News of Mill Creek.
Authorities with the Sheriff’s Office Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) arrived on scene near the 6800 block of South Machias Road at approximately 2:20 p.m.
The man was riding on South Machias Road when his bike missed a curve, and proceeded straight before crashing farther down the roadway, killing the driver on scene.
The road was closed for several hours as CIU responded. An investigation into the cause of the crash is still in progress, but detectives have so far ruled out speed and impairment as factors.
