Man killed in collision with flatbed semi-truck on I-90 near George

GRANT COUNTY, WA — A 57-year-old man died Monday evening after crashing his car into the back of a flatbed semi-truck on Interstate 90 near George, reports iFiberOne.

Authorities have not disclosed the exact location and time of the fatal crash, but Washington State Patrol said it happened as traffic began slowing around a separate collision ahead.

The man was behind the wheel of a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck heading west on the interstate when he rear-ended the truck, causing both vehicles to come to a stop in the left lane.

Authorities confirmed the driver of the pickup died at the scene.

Two occupants in the semi, a 38-year-old man and a 52-year-old man, were not reported hurt.

The case remains under investigation by the WSP.
