GRANT COUNTY, WA — A 27-year-old Pasco man died Thursday morning when his vehicle ran a stop sign and was struck by a semi-truck near Royal City, according to KOMO News.

The accident happened at the intersection of Road F Southwest and state Route 26 shortly after 6:20 a.m.

The man was driving on Road F Southwest when he failed to stop at a stop sign, forcing a semi traveling eastbound from SR-26 to crash into the driver’s side of the man’s car. Both vehicles came to rest along the westbound shoulder.

The young man died at the scene, according to Washington State Patrol.

The semi driver was not reported injured, and no other injuries were reported.

Authorities do not suspect impairment was a factor in the accident.
