Man hit by car during road rage exchange on I-405 offramp in BellevueRequest Free Consultation
KING COUNTY, WA — A man was hospitalized Friday afternoon after being struck by a fleeing vehicle during a road rage incident on Interstate 405 in Bellevue, reports KIRO 7.
The collision occurred on the ramp connecting I-405 southbound to 112th Avenue Southeast and was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m.
According to Washington State Patrol, the drivers of a white work truck and a red Lexus IS pulled over at the start of the offramp as their feud escalated. The driver of the work truck got out of their vehicle and approached the red Lexus with a four-foot level from the bed of their truck. After the truck driver struck the hood of the Lexus with the level, the Lexus hit the pedestrian as it fled the scene.
The victim, who was found unconscious, was rushed to Harboview Medical Center with serious injuries. Their condition remains undisclosed.
Investigators were later able to locate the fleeing driver, though no information has been released on any possible charges.
