GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY, WA — A 49-year-old man was killed early Saturday after being hit by a driver on U.S. Highway 12 near Satsop, according to The Olympian.

Washington State Patrol said the man had pulled onto the right hand shoulder along the eastbound lanes at around 12:50 a.m. when their vehicle experienced mechanical issues.

The man had exited his vehicle and was standing a short distance away. Moments later, an eastbound vehicle driven by a 32-year-old man traveled off the right side of the roadway and fatally struck the victim.
