Man fatally hit by suspected DUI driver while walking dog in Firecrest
Request Free ConsultationPIERCE COUNTY, WA — A 70-year-old man died Monday, a day after being hit by a vehicle while walking his dog in a Firecrest residential area, reports The News Tribune.
The fatal incident occurred in the 700 block of Claremont Street on Sunday, November 28, shortly before 6:15 a.m.
According to Firecrest police, a woman was behind the wheel of a 2007 Dodge Magnum going east when she slammed into a parked car, which was pushed into the victim. The impact sent the causing car across the road as the parked vehicle came to a stop in a cluster of bushes.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition. He was later transported to Tacoma General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Firecrest police said the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities confirmed she was subjected to a blood draw to test for suspected intoxication.
