Man dies after being hit by train while walking along Sumner tracks

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A man was killed early Thursday morning in a pedestrian accident involving a train near the Sounder Station in central Sumner, reports KOMO News.
Police responded to the scene in the 800 block of Maple Street shortly before 8:00 a.m.
Details are limited at this time, but authorities said a middle-aged man was walking near the railway tracks when he was struck by a train.
Train crossings at the Maple and Main Street intersections were closed during the investigation.
No further information has been released on the circumstances behind the fatal incident.
