Major collision blocks all SB lanes of I-405 at SR 169 in Renton

RENTON, WA – A major accident on southbound Interstate 405 at State Route 169 blocked all southbound lanes on Thursday morning and called for a large first responder presence.
🚨All general purpose lanes remain blocked at this time on I-405 and SR 169 and the backup is 3+ miles long🚨 The response to the collision is growing with Medical aid, Fire, IRT, State Patrol, and Renton Police all on scene. pic.twitter.com/vRVvgyvnKZ

The Washington State Department of Transportation reported the accident at 7:30 a.m. via Twitter. Southbound traffic squeezed through using the HOV lane, but a three-mile backup developed.
It is not clear whether anyone involved in the accident sustained serious injuries.
