Long backups reported after Marysville area accident

MARYSVILLE, WA – Miles-long backups were reported after a traffic accident on Interstate 5 southbound in the Marysville area on Monday morning.
According to WSDOT, the accident was reported in the southbound lanes near State Route 531 at about shortly before 9 a.m.
The incident was blocking two lanes. Traffic began stacking up behind the crash scene. Delays as long as three and a half miles were reported.
We will update this story if more information, including the condition of the involved parties, comes to light.
On I-5 southbound just south of SR 531 there is a collision blocking the 2 left lanes.
