Lacey, Washington – Truck Collides With Trestle, Causes Closure of Roadway

Lacey, Washington (October 15, 2019) – A semi truck collided with a train trestle near the intersection of Mullen Road Southeast and  Afflerbaugh Drive Southeast on Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported in the incident, but the crash caused the roadway to be closed for cleanup.

According to preliminary investigation, the driver had attempted to drive through the trestle even though the trailer the truck was towing was too tall to fit. The driver was cited for negligent driving, failure to obey signs and failure to keep an electronic logbook. The railroad was also closed while officials inspected the trestle for damage, but it as been confirmed that the trestle did not sustain any damage in the crash.
