Hit-and-run suspect arrested after seriously injuring pedestrian

KENNEWICK, WA – Kennewick Police arrested a 56-year-old man suspected of hitting a female pedestrian at the intersection of N Columbia Center Blvd and W Okanogan Place on Thursday.

According to KOMO News, the 38-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured following the accident. Witnesses say she was using the crosswalk when the driver hit her around 3 p.m.

The suspect, Jeffrey Montgomery, is currently being held at Benton County Jail. Police tracked him down using license plate information and a description of his truck provided by witnesses.

The woman Montgomery hit is being treated for her injuries at a local hospital and is expected to recover.
