MASON COUNTY, WA — Authorities are searching for a driver who fled the scene of a rollover collision Tuesday afternoon on State Route 106 south of Belfair, according to iFiberOne.

North Mason Fire District and Washington State Patrol troopers responded to the scene on the highway shortly after 3:05 p.m.

According to the mother of the victim driver, a vehicle cut out in front of the victim as it emerged from a driveway. The victim veered from the suspect vehicle to avoid rear-ending them, but they cut back as though to make a U-turn, causing the front end of the victim’s car to clip them. The move caused the victim’s car to flip over.

After a pause, the suspect vehicle attempted to speed off with a displaced tire. The driver then got out of their vehicle and fled on foot.

The extent of injuries to the victim was not disclosed, but she reported soreness and may plan to seek chiropractic treatment.

A search is underway for the involved driver.
