Four vehicles involved in fatality collision in Spanaway

SPANAWAY, WA – One man died Wednesday afternoon after he veered over the centerline of State Route 7 into oncoming traffic, striking another vehicle head-on and causing two other vehicles to crash.

Washington State Trooper Ryan Burke and the state Department of Transportation reported that the accident occurred around 3:23 p.m. on State Route 7 near 205th St Ct E. All lanes of the highway were blocked while WSP investigated.
The incident began when the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt headed north on SR 7 veered into the southbound lane and hit a Chevrolet Tahoe head-on. This initial collision caused two other cars to crash.
The driver of the Cobalt died at the scene. No one else was seriously injured.
The highway opened back up to traffic around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.
