Fire crews extricate two after car crashes into tree in Highland Park

The accident took place in the 7700 block of 11th Avenue Southwest at around 5:14 p.m.
Seattle Fire said crews were called to the scene for a rescue extrication after receiving a report of occupants trapped inside a wrecked car.
A photo captured at the scene shows a gray SUV resting at a head-on angle against a tree.
By 5:40 p.m., the male driver was being taken to a nearby hospital by private conveyance, suggesting non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the other car’s other occupant declined medical treatment, indicating minor injuries.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the accident.
