Fatal collision in Kitsap County leaves one dead

POULSBO, WA – One person died Thursday at the highway interchange of State Route 3 and State Route 308, after the driver of a pickup truck failed to abide by traffic laws.

KOMO News reports that the accident occurred around 11 a.m. Thursday. The driver of the pickup attempted to merge onto SR 3 by crossing SR 308, but collided with another vehicle after failing to yield to it.

The driver of the second vehicle died at the scene, while the driver of the pickup truck was uninjured.

Officials have not yet confirmed whether they will press charges against the pickup driver.
