Elderly man extricated after car overturns on Mercer Island

MERCER ISLAND, WA – An elderly driver was extricated from his overturned vehicle after crashing on Mercer Island on Wednesday evening.
According to the Mercer Island Reporter, the driver was in the 9300 block of Mercerwood Drive, traveling at a moderate speed, when his vehicle hit a rock and overturned on its side.
When firefighters arrived, they began to extricate the 73-year-old. The extrication took nearly half an hour due to the numerous personal items inside the man’s vehicle.
The victim was taken to an area hospital but was not seriously injured.
