DUI suspected after man drove into Steilacoom Lake

LAKEWOOD, WA – A man is suspected of driving under the influence after he drove his vehicle into Steilacoom Lake on Sunday night, according to South Sound News.
West Pierce Fire and Rescue responded to the 9000 block of Edgewater Driver Southwest around 11:45 p.m. Sunday night to find a vehicle that had crashed into the nearby lake.
Crews located the driver of the vehicle sitting on the shore, who reported that no one else was in the car with him at the time of the accident. The driver was uninjured in the crash but failed sobriety tests.
West Pierce police took the male driver into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
