PASCO, WA – Two people were killed Sunday when their vehicle collided with a semi truck as they attempted to flee Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies, KOMO News reports.
Ricky Cruz, 28, was attempting to flee authorities as he traveled north on US 395, north of the town of Pasco. He crossed into oncoming traffic near the highway’s intersection with Foster Wells Road, and collided with a southbound semi truck.
Karlie Moore, Cruz’s 23-year-old passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. Cruz was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, where he died sometime later.
We do not know why Cruz was fleeing police at this this time. Further investigations are ongoing.
