SEATTLE, WA – A woman was hospitalized, and her boyfriend was taken to jail, after a domestic-violence-related car accident in Seattle on Monday afternoon.

According to local news, the accident followed a verbal and physical altercation between the victim and her boyfriend early on Monday afternoon in the 2400 block of Southwest Holden Street at about 2:45 p.m. The suspect then got into the woman’s car and purposefully struck her with it, pinning her underneath.

After the accident, a bystander contained the suspect until authorities arrived. Another witness lifted the car off the injured 24-year-old woman.

She was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. Treatment was begun for her many injures and she is now stable.

The suspect was taken into custody. An investigation is ongoing to confirm whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
