Car crashes into propane tank, spreading fire in east Renton

RENTON, WA — A car rammed into a 500-gallon propane tank Monday night, causing fire to erupt near the Maple Hills neighborhood in the East Renton Highlands, according to KOMO News.

Police and fire crews responded to the scene in the 18000 block of 197th Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. to find a 500-gallon propane tank emitting flames.

The tank was doused with water as crews worked quickly to contain the fire and keep it from spreading to nearby homes.

No information has been reported on the causing driver, their condition, or what led up to the incident.
