Car crashes into marsh, catches fire, DUI suspected

EVERETT, WA – A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after crashing their car into a marshy area on Tuesday morning.

According to Everett Police, the crash only involved one car, and no one else was injured. The accident occurred around 9:04 a.m. Tuesday on northbound State Route 529 near the Snohomish River.

The Everett Fire Department assisted first responders with extinguishing the car when it caught fire.

The driver’s identity has not been released.
