Brush fire forces single-lane alternating traffic on US 101

TACOMA, WA – A brush fire broke out along US 101 around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, forcing traffic to alternate in one lane, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Updated: Brush fire on US 101, in both directions, at milepost 314.4 near Handley Ln. Beginning at 11:34 am on July 21, 2020 until further notice. Single lane alternating traffic in effect.

There are no injuries reported at this time, but traffic has severely slowed in this area while crews extinguish the flames.
Drivers are encouraged to pursue alternate routes.
